Camp Rosie

Giving Teen Girls the Skills to Survive in the Real World

Camp Rosie, the Commission on the Status of Women’s (CSW) business and leadership skills development camp, is now accepting applications from Glendale students.

Camp Rosie was developed for young women and girls in middle and high school between 12 and 18 years of age in order to empower them to make personal, educational, financial, and career choices so they can achieve self-sufficiency, career satisfaction, and long-term financial security. The three-week long day camp will help participants develop and practice skills in the following:

  • Financial literacy and entrepreneurship
  • Self-awareness and interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication techniques
  • Healthy relationships and teen dating safety skills
  • Fitness and nutrition
  • Self-defense

Camp will be held at the Pacific Community Center, 501 S. Pacific Ave in Glendale. There are two sessions to choose from:

Session One: July 1 – July 18, Mon – Thurs, 12:30 – 5:30 pm
Session Two: July 22 – August 8, Mon – Thurs, 12:30 – 5:30 pm

Women's Sports Foundation
LACBA Domestic Violence Project

The Los Angeles County Bar Association provides aid in filing for temporary restraining orders for victims of domestic violence. Glendale residents who are dealing with domestic violence can seek assistance at the Pasadena Courthouse. LACBA also provides an opportunity for attorneys interested in volunteering.
