Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and in an effort to promote prevention of sexual assaults against women and girls, the Glendale Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is providing FREE SELF-DEFENSE CLASSES to women and girls ages 12 and up.

Miss Representation – Film Screening

The Associates of Brand Library & Art Center (Brand Associates) in cooperation with the City of Glendale Commission on the Status of Women, will screen Miss Representation, a film by Jennifer Siebel Newson. The screening will take place on Tuesday, March 25 at 7:00 pm in the Glendale Public Library Auditorium, 222 East Harvard Street. The screening and post film discussion, lead by Dr. Caroline Heldman, are free to the public. Those who have seen the film are welcome to join for the discussion at approximately 8:30 pm.

LACBA Domestic Violence Project

The Los Angeles County Bar Association provides aid in filing for temporary restraining orders for victims of domestic violence. Glendale residents who are dealing with domestic violence can seek assistance at the Pasadena Courthouse. LACBA also provides an opportunity for attorneys interested in volunteering.
