The City of Glendale's Recycling Center serves as the central processing facility for recyclable material collected from the City's multi-family programs, the new three pass automation system, citywide drop-off stations, and office paper recycling programs.
The Recycling Center is an essential part of the City of Glendale's plan to conform to the California Waste Management Act of 1989 (AB939) that dictates that all municipalities divert the amount of waste they generate by 25% by 1995 and 50% by the year 2000.
The Recycling Center Pays Cash For Your Recyclable Materials
Residents and businesses who bring recyclable materials to the Recycling Center can deposit them voluntarily or exchange them for cash. The Center pays full market value for the following materials: glass bottles, aluminum cans, PET #1 plastic bottles, #2 plastic bottles, PVC #3 plastic, cardboard, newspaper, white ledger, colored ledger, computer paper, scrap aluminum, brass and copper.
Accounts Available For Businesses & Organizations
Large businesses, groups, and organizations can open special accounts at the Recycling Center. With an account, materials can be deposited and the cash value is recorded for payment monthly or on demand.
With an account, you can also authorize the Center to automatically donate cash received from recyclable materials to a designated charity.
Bring All Your Recyclable Materials To The Recycling Center
The Recycling center is a one-stop center where residents and businesses can receive cash for the recyclable materials listed above or can donate any other material accepted in the City's recycling programs, such as: steel (tin cans), mixed waste paper, magazines, junk mail, and telephone books.
