Any residential building in Glendale with five or more units can receive recycling services where City staff empty one or more gray automated recycling containers or a white recycling bin located at the building. Upon request, City staff will evaluate your recycling needs and determine the most appropriate type of recycling containers to provide. It is only necessary for the building management to locate space to store the containers or bin. The containers or bin will be emptied on a schedule that is appropriate to the volume of recyclables.

We also have flyers available in English, Spanish and Armenian that can be distributed to tenants explaining what to place in the gray containers or white bin.
Building managers or owners can also request one or more of our green yard trimmings containers for the placement of brush, leaves, grass, trimmings, and tree limbs less than six inches in diameter. The green containers must be placed at or on the curb on the curbside collection day for your area.
Do not place palm fronds, plastic or paper bags, tree limbs greater than six inches in diameter, fruit or vegetables, animal waste or dirt in the green containers. Do not bundle or tie yard trimmings and make sure the lid of the container is closed.
By using one of the City's recycling or yard trimmings containers, building managers will be decreasing the volume of refuse and making it possible to save money by reducing the size or collection frequency of your refuse containers.
To request recycling or yard trimming services, to receive recycling flyers, or to learn the curbside collection day for your area, contact the Integrated Waste Management Section at 818-548-3916.
