Letter from the Chief
I am proud to present the Glendale Police Department’s four-year strategic plan. This document represents the collaboration and input from a wide variety of community, government and employee stakeholders. I want to thank everyone involved in the development of this plan for their dedication and willingness to help design the blueprint for our organization’s future.
Our vision for the Glendale Police Department is to provide our community with, “World class policing through innovation and excellence.” The City of Glendale has become one of the premier cities in the State of California. Our goal is to build upon the accomplishments of our past, to incorporate the feedback from the City’s long range planning efforts and to refine our activities in a manner that will help us achieve our vision.
Partnerships and collaboration are primary themes of this strategic plan. As an organization, we are ever-cognizant that improving the quality of life for our community will always be a collective effort of every facet of City government and those we serve. Moreover, we recognize that there are competing community needs and limited fiscal resources from which all municipal services are derived. Consequently, the purpose of this strategic plan is to maximize the effectiveness of our organization through strategic application of our limited resources in a manner that best achieves our mission.
I wish to emphasize that this strategic plan is a flexible document that will serve as a guide for our trek into the future. As we implement this plan, we will be continuously measuring progress and evaluating outcomes to ensure we are meeting our strategic objectives.
I have always said that I am proud to be the coach of this winning team. Please accept this strategic plan as evidence of our continuing pledge to maintain the public trust while providing world class police service for each and every member of our community.
