The City of Glendale’s Parking Enforcement Unit has established this web-site to provide our community with a resource that offers information about our services. We are committed to improving the Quality of Life of our community.

Our goal is to efficiently respond to calls for service, and effectively enforce parking laws and regulations that provide for the safe and efficient flow of traffic and parking space turnover in both our residential neighborhoods and commercial districts.

Make a payment

You have different options when making a payment for your parking citation.

1. Pay your parking citation with a credit card online.
   • Website: www.paymycite.com/glendalecity/. Please have your citation available. You will be required to enter some citation information.
   • Method of payment: Checks, most major credit cards and debit cards displaying the Visa or MasterCard logo.
   • Fee for this service: $3.95.
2. Make your payment in person.
   • Location: The Glendale Police Department’s Traffic Window, 131 N. Isabel, Glendale, CA 91206 - MAP
   • Office hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Our office is closed on weekends and holidays.
   • Method of payment: Cash, checks, most major credit cards and debit cards displaying the Visa or MasterCard logo.
3. Pay your parking citation over the phone.
   • Calling our Parking Citation Service Center at (866) 450-2530. Please have your citation available when calling.
   • Method of payment: most major credit cards and debit cards displaying the Visa or MasterCard logo.
   • Fee for this service: $3.95.
4. Pay your parking citation by mail.
   • Method of payment: check or money order (do not send cash) using the envelope provided with your citation.

How to contest a parking citation

The City of Glendale adheres to the guidelines prescribed by the California Vehicle Code with regard to the contesting of parking citations. Contesting a parking citation is a three step process. In order to participate in this process you MUST contest your citation within twenty-one (21) calendar days of the date the citation was issued, or fourteen (14) calendar days from the mailing of a notice of delinquent parking violation.

1. Initial Review

   You must fill out an Initial Review Request within twenty-one (21) calendar days of the date the citation was issued, or fourteen (14) calendar days from the mailing of the notice of delinquent parking violation.

   You may pick up a form in person at The Glendale Police Department, 131 N. Isabel, Glendale, CA 91206. When you have completed the form you may mail it to The Parking Citation Service Center, P.O. Box 11923, Santa Ana, CA 92711-1923. Your request for review MUST be received within the time frames above or you will have waived your right to contest.

   If your citation was upheld in Step 1, you may proceed with an Administrative Hearing.

2. Administrative Hearing

   Be sure to carefully follow the instructions on the form. State Law requires that you pay in advance all fines that are owed on the citation except as provided in Section 40215 (b) of the California Vehicle Code before you can continue to Step 2.

   Your request Must be received no later than twenty-one (21) calendar days of mailing of the results of the Initial Review in Step 1. Failing to meet these requirements will result in a ruling of “Sustained” and a waiver of any rights to further contest the citation, except as provided by law.

3. Appeal

   If the citation is “Sustained” in Step 2, you may file an appeal of the finding with the Glendale Municipal Court, 600 E. Broadway, Glendale, CA 91205. You must obtain a Notice of Appeal form from the court. There is a court imposed filing fee of $25 for this appeal process. The appeal must be filed within thirty (30) days of the mailing of the Administrative Hearing officer’s findings. A copy of the appeal must also be filed with the City of Glendale, Office of the City Attorney, located at 613 E. Broadway, Glendale, CA 91206-4394. Your failure to timely file this appeal will result in your waiver to have the matter heard by the court.

   If the presiding Judge dismisses your citation, the $25 filing fee along with your parking fine will be refunded to you.

FAQ

How do I handle a City of Glendale correctible parking citation (C.V.C. 5200 and 5204)?

If you are cited for one of the above violations and can provide proof of correction, the fine may be reduced to $10 dollars provided the proof of correction portion on the back of the original citation is completed and payment is received within twenty-one (21) calendar days of the date of the original citation. If you do not have your original citation, please click here.

Failure to provide payment and proof of correction as stated above may result in the penalty being increased and a hold being placed on the vehicle’s DMV registration.

I parked in a disabled space and forgot to hang my Disabled Placard. Do I still have to pay the citation?

It is your responsibility to display your Disabled Placard in order to park in a disabled space or anywhere where you may be exempt from certain parking restrictions as provided by law. Disabled placard violations may be reduced to a $25 administrative fee upon presentation of a valid placard, disabled placard ID and driver’s license. The $25 fee and documentation must be provided to the Glendale Police Department within twenty-one (21) calendar days of the date of the original citation. Failure to submit payment and documentation as stated above may result in the penalty being increased and a hold being placed on the vehicle’s DMV registration.

Can I perform community service for my parking citation?

No, community service is not available to settle your parking citations.

May I get a payment extension on my parking citation?

We do not allow payment extensions or arrangements on parking citations. Please carefully observe your due date to avoid late fees.

Can I be arrested if I do not pay my parking citation(s)?

You will not be arrested for non payment of outstanding parking citations; however, they may negatively impact your credit report and may prevent you from registering your vehicle with the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Can my car get towed if I do not pay for my parking citations?

Yes, your vehicle is subject to being impounded should you have (5) or more outstanding parking citations. In order to get your vehicle back you must have current registration, pay all of your outstanding parking citations as well as storage and release fees.

My registration is expired, can my car get towed?

Your vehicle is subject to being towed and cited if your registration is expired in excess of (6) months.

I paid for my parking citation(s) at the City of Glendale, why do they still show outstanding at DMV?

There is a delay in updating our information to the DMV. This process typically takes about 45 days. If you need proof of payment for parking citations in order to register your vehicle, you will need to obtain an “Abstract” for your paid citation(s) from our office to complete your registration. I sold this car. Why am I still getting citations in the mail?

If you were the registered owner on file at the time the ticket was issued, than you are responsible for the ticket. When you sell a vehicle, you are responsible for notifying the DMV and filling out a Release of Liability which can be obtained from DMV. Holiday Schedule

In accordance with the Glendale Municipal Code Section 3.08.010, the following days shall be deemed as holidays for the purpose if this code:
