What is it?
Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program which enlists the active participation of citizens in cooperation with law enforcement to reduce crime in their communities.
Neighborhood Watch involves neighbors getting to know each other and working together in a program of mutual assistance. Citizens are trained to recognize and report suspicious activities in their neighborhoods. You will receive information on home security and much more to make your neighborhood a safer place to live.
Who can participate
Neighborhood Watch is made up of homeowners, renters, couples, singles, families, young people, and senior citizens. In summary ... YOU!
Why Neighborhood Watch?
Millions of crimes occur each year in this country. It is impossible for police officers to be on every street corner and in every neighborhood. Citizen involvement is essential to the prevention and reduction of crime.
How to get involved?
Contact the Glendale Police Department Community Policing Unit at 818-548-4015 to join or start a Neighborhood Watch group. It's that easy.
Remember, if you see something suspicious call the police immediately. By working together we can fight crime the most effective way - before it begins.
