14th Annual Police Appreciation Luncheon
Date Posted: 3/18/2009 12:50:17 PM
Bulletin Number: 09-03
DR Number: 09-0514
Announcement: The Glendale Police Department will award the Medal of Valor—the highest recognition bestowed on an officer—at the 14th annual Police Appreciation Luncheon at the Hilton Hotel in Glendale, California on May 14, 2009. The Medal of Valor has not been awarded in several years. The Glendale Police Department will also honor outstanding officers, civilians, and community members who have contributed greatly to the safety of Glendale in the past year.

'On this day we honor those who keep us safe,' said Patrick J. Wade, Vice President of the Foundation and Chairman of the Annual Awards Lunch. “I encourage everyone in our community to please support and pay respects to the men and women of the Glendale Police Department who make this one of the safest cities in the country.”

The Glendale Police Foundation (GPF) will host the luncheon, which will be held from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm. Tickets are available for $70. Sponsorships for tables begin at $850. Sponsorships for the luncheon on behalf of the police officers start at $60 for one officer and $90 for two. Sponsors for the events include the Glendale Kiwanis Club, Glendale Bar Association, and many others.

The Glendale Police Foundation (formerly known as the Citizens for Law and Order) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources to the Glendale Police Department to help prevent and solve crime. The organization, formed in 1968, is a 501(c) (3) corporation, and supported entirely by donations.
