By City Council policy, Glendale will be graffiti-free. This policy has been successful in nearly eliminating graffiti. Neighborhood Services is responsible for implementing that policy through the following strategy:
When offered for sale, graffiti implements, such a spray paint, wide-tip markers, paint sticks and glass etchers are required to be kept behind a locked cabinet.
City staff will remove graffiti from public property immediately when it is reported.
City staff will routinely survey public property to note and remove graffiti that is not reported by residents.
The City will aggressively investigate, apprehend and prosecute any person involved in graffiti vandalism.
Police Department and Neighborhood Services personnel will share information on the identity of taggers and graffiti vandals.
Property owners are required to keep their property free from graffiti. Graffiti must be removed immediately. Property owners
may arrange for City staff to remove graffiti from private property for a small fee to cover the material cost of the removal.
