Throughout the year, we present a variety of exciting events for the public to participate in. Some of these are listed below. For more information regarding this season's events, download the current issue of our Leisure Guide.

FALL

HALLOWEEN HOOPLA
Come have a ghoulish time at Pacific Community Center. Activities include a cake walk, picture booth, popcorn and prizes, creation station, face painting, and carnival games. Tickets can be purchased for a small fee. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

FREAKY FRIDAY HALLOWEEN EVENT
Staff will honor the Scariest, Best Homemade, Funniest, Cutest and Most Original costumes with prizes and candy at this annual costume contest. Additional activities include a picture booth, craft projects, and treats.

Fee: FREE
Date: Held annually during the month of October
Location: Sparr Heights Community Center, 1613 Glencoe Way
Time: 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

MAPLE PARK COSTUME CONTEST
Staff will honor the Scariest, Best Homemade, Funniest, Cutest and Most Original costumes with prizes and candy at this annual costume contest. Registration will begin at 4:00 p.m. on a first-come first-serve basis. There is a maximum of 30 children per age category.

Age groups: 6 & Under, 7 - 9, and 10 - 15
Fee: FREE
Date: Held annually during the month of October, 1st weekend
Location: Maple Park Community Center, 820 E. Maple St.
Time: 4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. (Check-in begins at 4:00p.m.)

EQUINOX DANCE PARTY AT THE GLENDALE SKATE PARK
The event includes the "Game of Skate", a Best Trick Contest as well as the Equinox Dance. After the "Game of Skate", all participants and spectators are invited to stay for the Best Trick Contest and the Equinox Dance, a FREE event that includes hair painting, skate board decorating, food, games and live bands.

Ages: 13 - 18 years of age
Date: Held annually during the month of October, 1st weekend
Location: Glendale Skate Park, 1621 Canada Blvd.
Time: 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

CLUB MAPLE CHARITY INVITATIONAL SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT
Step up to the plate and play softball for a good cause. Club Maple is a free program open to all developmentally disabled adults. There are additional fees per team per game for officials.

Fee: $210 per team
Dates: Held annually during the month of November
Location: Glendale Sports Complex and other local Glendale fields

VERDUGO HILLS COMMUNITY HIKE & TRAIL RUN
Join the communities of Burbank, Glendale and La Crescenta in exploring the Verdugo Hills hiking trails. Hikers leave from a choice of the following locations: La Tuna Canyon, or Stough Canyon Nature Center. Runners leave from Brand Park. One meal is included in the fee, and will be served at the summit. Breakfast will be served until 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Fee: $5.00 - $10.00
Date: Held annually during the month of November
Time: Hike: Begins at 8:00 a.m. / Trail Run: Begins at 7:30 a.m.

WINTER

HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY
Start of the holiday season by attending the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony featuring choral music, a special visit from Santa Claus, and the lighting of the City's Christmas tree. Hot chocolate and candy canes will be served! Warm clothing and comfortable shoes are suggested. In case of rain, the event will be cancelled. Free parking will be available in the Civic Center Lot.

SANTA AT THE PARK
Santa will be visiting Verdugo Park to spread some holiday cheer. This will be your chance to tell jolly old St. Nick your holiday wishes and participate in carnival games, crafts, treats and more. Pictures with Santa will be available for a minimal fee.

Date: Held annually during the month of December
Location: Maple Park, 820 E. Maple St.
Time: 12:00 noon - 3:00 p.m.

WINTER INVITATIONAL SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT
Shake off the winter blues and play in our Winter Slow-pitch Tournament. There are additional fees per team per game for officials.

Fee: $210 per team

Location: Glendale Sports Complex and other local Glendale fields

WINTER WONDERLAND
Over 60 tons of man-made snow transforms the west side of Brand Park into a frosty winter setting! Children are invited to play in active and passive snow areas. Plastic discs are provided for the downhill snow slides. Community display booths, "hands-on-activities," entertainment and refreshments will be available. This family fun event is for all ages; children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission to the event is FREE; however, there is a minimal charge for some of the day's activities. In case of rain, the event will be cancelled.

EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA
Hop on over to Verdugo Park for our Annual Easter Eggstravaganza! The Easter Bunny will host egg hunts, a special "make it and take it" craft, games, treats and more! Children are encouraged to bring their own basket for eggs and treats. Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be available. *Additional activities and snacks require a fee. Note: The Egg Hunt will be divided into the following age groups: 2-4 years of age, 5-8 years of age, and 9-12 years of age.

Ages: Youth 2-12 years of age
Fee: $3.00 per child* (Parents and guardians will be admitted free of charge)
Date: Held annually prior to Easter
Location: Verdugo Park, 1621 Canada Blvd.
Time: 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

3-ON-3 YOUTH BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
March Madness is back at Maple Park! This thrilling day-long double elimination tournament includes trophies, medals, a cash snack bar, and supervision by recreation leaders. Space is limited to eight teams per age category, and teams will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Pre-registration is required. All participants are required to have a completed
Release of Liability & Indemnity Agreement form on file.

Fee: $20.00 per team
Date: Held annually during the month of March

SPECIAL NEEDS ACCOMMODATIONS
The Community Services & Parks Department will provide any reasonable accommodation toward the inclusion of a participant. Please contact our Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator at (818) 548-3798 two weeks prior to the start of the program. Ample time is required to determine the needs of each request.
