Glendale has a Council-Manager form of government. Five council members are elected
at large to serve four year terms. Elections take place on the first Tuesday in
April during odd numbered years. Each year Council selects one member to serve as
mayor. The Mayor presides at Council meetings and has ceremonial responsibilities,
in addition to his or her other Council duties.
