Support the Library, Arts & Culture Department

The Library, Arts & Culture Department is a remarkable place. After over 100 years it is still free, sustaining a love of reading, the quest for information and lifelong learning for everyone in our community.

How can you help?

The Friends of the Library holds a Loading Dock Book Sale at the Central Library Loading Dock (back of building) on the second Saturday of every month from 9 am - 12 noon.

Friends of the Library volunteers run the Book Nook used bookstore at the Central Library.

The Book Nook is open when volunteers are available. Call the Central Library Reference Desk at 818-548-2027 to find out if the Book Nook is open.

Free membership - As a long time sponsor of the Library, the Glendale Federal Credit Union will pay one year of your Friends of the Library dues when you join the credit union. Plus, your family will also be eligible for all the benefits of credit union membership. Visit the Glendale Federal Credit Union at Wilson and Jackson or call 818.548.3976, or visit GlendaleFCU.org for more information.

The Friends of the Library also collects donations and conducts support activities for the Library. To donate dollars, books, or your volunteer time, visit the Friends of the Glendale Public Library web site. 100% of donated funds benefit the public directly. Public libraries all over California are struggling to stay open, buy new books, answer questions, and provide Internet access and computers. Support the Library, Arts & Culture Department!
