The Glendale Public Library’s collection of genealogy resources focuses primarily on Glendale residents. Some of the resources are located in the Special Collections Room at the Central Library, which maintains limited hours. Among the useful materials located at the Central Library are historic city directories; the Glendale News-Press, the Los Angeles Times, and other local newspapers on microfilm; Sanborn Insurance and other historic local maps; and newspaper clippings and photograph collections. See the Special Collections Room page for hours and contact information.
In addition to the Central Library’s genealogy collection, there are other organizations in the area with genealogical research materials. All have limited hours and varying resources. Please write or call ahead.
