Fahrenheit 451 Film Screening

With Steven Paul Leiva, author of Searching For Ray Bradbury

Enjoy a birthday cake for Ray Bradbury, a screening of Francoise Truffaut's Fahrenheit 451, adapted from Bradbury's novel, and a discussion and book signing with Steven Paul Leiva, author of Searching For Ray Bradbury. Sponsored by the Associates of Brand Library and Library, Arts & Culture.

Ray Bradbury was a prolific author of hundreds of short stories, fifty books, and poems, essays, operas, plays and screenplays. His 1953 novel, Fahrenheit 451, was made into a movie written and directed by Francois Truffaut in 1966, starring Julie Christie and Oscar Werner. The film is 112 minutes.

After the screening author Steven Paul Leiva will discuss the life and work of Ray Bradbury. Leiva led a successful effort to name the major downtown Los Angeles intersection of Fifth and Flower, Ray Bradbury Square. His book, Searching for Ray Bradbury, contains a series of essays on his dear friend and inspiration, Ray Bradbury.

Seating is limited. Library visitors receive 3 hours FREE parking across the street at The Market Place parking structure with validation at the loan desk.
