A fictitious business name in needed. The Glendale News-Press has applications available for a small fee. The Glendale News-Press is located at 111 W. Wilson, 2nd floor, Glendale.

Select a site. Determine zoning requirements and secure any special zoning. Contact the City of Glendale Community Planning Department at (818) 548-2140 for those requirements.
Obtain a business permit: A business permit "Zoning Use Certificate" is required to open a business or home business in the City of Glendale. An application can be obtained by visiting the City of Glendale Building Division (Community Planning Dept.) at 633 E. Broadway, Suite 101 Glendale or calling (818) 548-3200.
