Colorado Street Facade Improvement Program |

The Colorado Street Facade Improvement Program is designed to reinforce the vibrancy of the retail and commercial environment on Colorado Street to promote retailers and attract shoppers. The development efforts for Colorado Street include the renovation of existing building facades to enhance the image of one of the important gateways to the City of Glendale.
The Program provides assistance in the form of a grant, funded by the Community Development Block Grant Program, with a pre determined minimum contribution from the applicant. To ensure high quality and a uniform level of improvements for all applicants, the City of Glendale will provide and pay for architectural services.
Eligible improvements may consist of but are not limited to:
- Removal of outdated signs and placement of new signs.
- Modification of doors and windows.
- Repair, replacement, removal or installation of awnings, marquee or other sun control devices.
- Exterior painting and decorative treatment.
- Architectural lighting and window display lighting.
- Minor landscaping directly related to the exterior of the building.
- Other facade improvements not listed which will contribute to the retail/commercial environment.
